ACOLYTES

Acolytes participate in the worship service to assist the pastor. Serving as an Acolyte is one of the most important services a youth can render the worship life of the Church. The Acolyte program is open to anyone from 5th grade (as of Fall 2022) to high school. If you're interested in learning more about this ministry or being a part of our next training session, please contact Faby Coppula.

ALTAR GUILD

The Alter Guild is responsible for the Altar and surrounding church items. They make sure that the cross is lit, and that the candles can easily be lit by the Acolytes. They also ensure that the flowers are in place each week for worship and that the sanctuary is appropriately decorated to reflect the current liturgical season. They also help prepare Communion. This ministry is led by Debbie George and Matthew Nelson.

GREETERS

Greeters stand at or near the doors of the sanctuary on Sunday mornings to welcome members and guests into worship. This is an incredibly important ministry, as greeters are the first faces that people see as they enter the church. Their "hello" or "good morning" can be one of the most impactful parts of someone's worship experience at FUMCO. If you'd like more information or are interested in joining our team, please email Sam in the church office ([email protected]).

LITURGISTS

Liturgists stand in front of the church each week and lead responsive readings, prayers, and lessons from Scripture, and they are always looking for more people to join their ranks. Please see our Liturgist Coordinator, Karla Turner, to find out how you can get started.

USHERS

Ushers are some of the first people that visitors see when they walk through the door, so they need to be friendly and welcoming to everyone. They make sure that everyone gets a bulletin, help assist people to their seats when needed, and have a number of other responsibilities throughout each worship service. For more information, please see Buzz Reynolds.
