UPDATE FROM VTF:

Dear Friends,

On Behalf of the 2015 Vision Task Force, thank you for your participation over the past 7 months in the process of discerning God's vision for our church.  You provided valuable input through our 21 day Prayer Vigil, Congregational Surveys, Home Meetings, and most recently the Town Hall gatherings, and the Vision Task Force felt all your prayers during their retreat weekend.

The Vision Task Force Report can be picked up from the church office-to be submitted for adoption during FUMCO's Annual All-Church Conference on Thursday, November 12 in Messenger Hall (the All-Church Conference begins at 6:30 PM).

The 2015 Vision Task Force is keenly aware of how much FUMCO values its traditions.  There is a renewed sense of clarity about who we are as congregation and why we are here.  The rich  history and legacy of our church is an unchanging asset, and we will of course work diligently to preserve it.  Now God is also calling us to a new vision and to new ministries, and we want to be just as diligent in pursuing faithfulness towards our future calling in Christ.

There will no doubt be parts of this vision which ring in your heart like a bell, and others which are not really speaking to you or for you, but that's precisely the nature of life in Christian community!   Over time this vision will become clearer and clearer, and will undergo further modification as you help to "perfect it in love."

For now, with this mailing the 2015 Vision Task Force has completed its assigned work with hearts grateful to God and to all of you.  Thank you again for your prayers and support.

In Christ,

Bonita Chavis, Co-Chair 2015 VTF
Jarod Hicks, Co-Chair 2015 VTF
Pastor Bill Johnson
