FUMCO has a robust set of programs for children from birth through the 5th grade. One of the most important things for you to know is that our entire Children’s Staff has been background checked and trained in what we call “Safe Sanctuary”. They all love kids and nurture them in Christian education.

  • To Parents of  Young Children: Relax!  God put the wiggle in children, So don't feel that you have to suppress it in God's house.  All ages are welcome in worship!  Restrooms are located in the narthex (lobby) of our sanctuary and are equipped with portable changing tables.
  • To all:  We are a growing church, and the presence of children in worship is a gift!
  • To our Church Members: Please welcome our children, and give a smile of encouragement to their parents.

NURSERY CARE – Our nursery staff is available during Adult Sunday School and our 10:30 Worship Service to keep your young children safe and happy. Nursery Care is available for infants through age 4. Parents of nursery-aged children will sign their child in and out during the service. The Nursery Room is located on the 1st floor of our Education Building, between our children's Sunday School rooms and the Family Promise Office.  Child care is also available, if needed, for most church programs. Contact the church office if you need childcare provided during your event.

SUNDAY SCHOOL – Sunday School is a time to learn about Christ in a fun environment. Classes are provided for K thru 2nd, and for 3rd thru 6th grade year and consist of activities and curriculum to help each child understand the Bible and Christian values. Sunday School is conducted at the 10:30 hour immediately following the Word for Children in service.  We are currently doing the "Spark" curriculum from Cokesbury. Our 2017-2018 Team: Carol Hilton, Donna Nelson, Dorothy Utter, Julie Wakefield, Cindy Wilson. Please email our Sunday School Superintendent, Dorothy Utter ([email protected]), for more information.

Primetimers - Homework time with a spiritual component.  This is for our children in 1st thru 5th grade.  @6:30 to 8 pm in the Sunday School room on Wednesday Nights beginning September 28th.  A mid-week faith and fellowship opportunity for children to catch up on homework in a quiet space and also through a variety of activities, kids learn how to make Jesus a part of everything they do.  This is led by Joyce Claussen, Julie Wakefield, Sylvia Coussa, and Dorothy Utter.

WORD FOR CHILDREN--We highly value having children be a part of our worship service experience here at FUMCO, so during our service, we invite our children to come up to the front for a 3 minute mini sermon (usually led by Pastor Bill or one of our Sunday School teachers) that helps our children apply the Sermon Passage of the Day to their lives in language they understand.  After this, they are dismissed to Sunday School.
